2024-2025 B' Mitzvah Registration Form

Welcome to the Ben and Bernice Fiterman B’ Mitzvah Program at Beth El Synagogue! This is a unique
and memorable time in the life of your family and we are delighted to be on this journey with you.

Our program goes beyond the customary skills of chanting Torah/Haftarah and leading prayers! Through family education, Shabbat experiences, adult-only learning, and mitzvah projects, our program offers your family a chance to feel the rhythm and depth of Jewish life. It is our hope that by taking advantage of the full B’ Mitzvah Program, your child(ren)’s B' Mitzvah will be a steppingstone to a more meaningful connection to Judaism in your home and within our community.

This B' Mitzvah Registration Form must be completed in order to receive a B' Mitzvah date for your student later this spring. A non-refundable deposit will be required upon the Date Acceptance agreement.

Beth El embraces the diversity of our community.  As well, we embrace those who learn and communicate in diverse ways. If you have questions about any special accommodations your child(ren) might require in our program, please reach out to us at any time.

We look forward to welcoming your child(ren) as part of our program!

DATE REQUEST
Please provide us with three different preferred B' Mitzvah dates per student below. While we will do our best to accommodate all requests, we cannot guarantee your first or second choice.

You may use a helpful tool at www.hebcal.com to calculate your child(ren)'s Hebrew birthday:

     1. Click Date Converter
     2. Enter student's English birthdate, and select if they were born before or after sunset
     3. Click "Convert to Hebrew"
     4. Add 13 years to the Hebrew year given, then click "Covert to Gregorian"
     5. The English date given to you is the earliest date your child(ren) may become a B' Mitzvah
Partnering ("Double" B' Mitzvah)
If you already know that you would like to share your simcha with another child (sibling, friend, etc.), answer "yes" then list the name of the other child.

Please list the name of the B' Mitzvah you would like to request shared dates.
