Art of the Cantor Lunch and Learn

Lunches must be ordered by noon the Friday before the class.
The 20th Century saw the destruction of European Jewry and the rapid growth of communities across North America. With that, it saw Golden Age of the Cantorate. In this 8-part class, Cantor Tisser will guide us in exploring the development of Cantorial Arts through the 20th century, introducing us to major Cantors – some more well known, some lesser – telling stories of their lives, how they fit in to the broad tapestry of Cantorial music, and presenting recordings of their beautiful voices. This class will be offered in-person only. Lunch is available for purchase; outside food is not permitted. Lunch(a wrap and salad) may be purchased through this form.  Contact Cantor Tisser for more information. This class will meet the following Wednesdays at noon in The Learning Center:

  • January 11
